Sunrise House, Pakefield

Sunrise House is in a great location, only 5 minutes walk from a lovely, clean and uncrowded beach, with cafe, outdoor shower and beach huts to hire. Our 21 month old grandson enjoyed all the toys left thank you for those. We also appreciated the spacious rooms and the small garden was handy for a game of football. However, we thought the house was let down by a number of issues. The cleanliness was generally acceptable except for the laminate floors, which were filthy, as evidenced by the state of our grandsons socks after just 20 minutes. Even the bathroom floors hadnt been washed surely a priority between guests? Also, there were so many things that we gradually discovered were missing no appliance manuals to help set the oven clock, without which the oven wouldnt work, no oven gloves, no pegs we bought some and left them there, no non slip mat for the bath a pre requisite for a holiday let, I would have thought. The shower cubicle frame was coming apart at the corner junction, the stair gate wouldnt fit at the top of the stairs and, at the bottom, it had to be one step up. We didnt use it, judging it to be too hazardous. None of the doors would stay open rubber wedges? , the bedrooms lack storage space and the lighting, even in the kitchen, was poor. We enjoyed our week there but we wouldnt stay again or recommend it to friends.

Lovely property that's just a short walk to the beach and amusements. Perfect for a family with toys in the living room and my daughter loved the doll house in her bedroom. You've got a gorgeous kitchen with plenty of space and there is 2 fridges so plenty of space to keep drinks cool as well as your usual food freezer is a little smaller and frosted up but that's a minor issue. You've got plenty of living space with the living room and a nice dining room, when the weather's good you've got a lovely little garden with a table and chairs too. The bedrooms are a good size with comfortable beds no one complained on our party of 6. Family bathroom up stairs with a deep bath and shower from the taps, could do with a curtain as you can splash water around really easily but again this is a minor issue and it does the job. There is a bathroom on the bottom floor after the kitchen with a shower so 2 toilets available, the shower tray fills up quickly which is a minor gripe but not a major issue. The shower is great with 2 options of shower head both with decent pressure. You've got the added bonus of a games room with a darts board and small pool table, yes the pool table is a little worn and on a slight slant but it's fantastic to have it there and like I say an added bonus UK yellowred and us pool balls available. The living room TV is quite small but I don't think you'd come to this property and location to watch TV, we didn't even turn it on. It does have Disney if you did want to watch it though. The WiFi is solid and no one had connection issues with various phones and tablets linked to it during our stay. There's ample parking on the road outside and a spot behind gates on the property, we had 3 cars and never had any issues. It's a fantastic property that's got everything a family needs for a lovely stay, I would highly recommend and will most certainly stay there again thank you. I also had a lovely interaction with the owners on check out when I informed them we had set off a day early.

The house is lovely. The only niggly bits were that in the single bedroom there was no where to hang or put away clothes, and also the bunk bed room, ie a hanging rail and a chest of drawers. The same in the other bedrooms there were no chest of drawers to put anything away. We had to lay the suitcases down and live out of them. Also a towel rails in the bathrooms and hooks on the back of doors to dry towels as not all rooms had a hook. It was a lovely house and very spacious. Also the freezer needed to be defrosted as it was completely iced up. We could just about get into the bottom drawer to put our ice packs.

Property as described, very clean and lovely interior. Very close to beach and nice walks in either direction. The owner very helpful and a prompt response to any queries. Defo would book again.

We had a great week at sunrise house, its was clean, warm and comfortable and the games room was an added bonus! Had everything we needed. Great being across from the park and beach..our little jackapoo had loads of walks. It felt homely.would definitely stay again.

Great house, lovely features, close to the beach. Off road parking is a bonus.

Nice property all the facilities you need. Of road parking good, as it seemed a very busy road, at times. Well positioned. Lots of places to visit.

A bit disappointed on first arrival, the kitchen floor looked very dirty that hadn't been mopped or cleaned in a long time, work tops in kitchen very sticky. The shower room didn't look brilliant clean, just first impressions count. Also nowhere to hang clothes in double room at the front bedroom! We did enjoy our stay but did just need to mention these points.

The property was excellent, spacious and in a very nice location to the beach, park and town. Had many days down at the beach and enjoyed visiting the area. We enjoyed the quirky games of pool in the games room which also has a dartboard. A bit of clothes storage for a couple of the bedrooms would be the only gripe really but otherwise I'd have no hesitation in recommending this property.

A real home from home Our second stay at Sunrise House this year we enjoyed the property very much in February and wanted to return. The house is spacious, well maintained, clean and welcoming, with attention to detail through good quality furnishings, fixtures and fittings. Ease of street parking was also welcome. Our April week was blessed with warm weather and the garden was a real bonus for us and our dogs. The games room was a hit for a bit of friendly competition! The situation of the property is ideal for being in easy reach of the seafront, promenade, great cafes recommend Garden Tea Rooms, in Kensington Gardens Park for breakfast, main meals or coffee & cake, The Jolly Sailors provides superb food and sea views. The Owners are very responsive and clearly want everyone who stays at their property to have the best holiday experience thank you for sharing a lovely home. Ron & Lorraine

We were pleased with everything in this nice home. However the beds in the back bedroom could be more comfortable by replacing the existing beds. Overall we are very pleased and have already booked another week, Thankyou.

We stayed at New Years with young children as a small group of friends. The house was easy to find and check in. The drive was a little tricky to access as the gates were misaligned and we had to move things off the parking space to be able to park in the spot. The hosts were incredibly welcoming leaving a handwritten note and treats which was very thoughtful. It was laid out perfectly for being social and we found the flow of the house worked well to be together.

The house was fabulous with plenty of space and very clean. It had everything we needed with enough utensils and plates in the kitchen. The coffee machine with pods was a lovely touch as well as dishwasher tablets. The location was excellent and had plenty of parking available even with roadworks taking place directly outside the property. The only negative was that we were unable to use the games room due to broken cues. This was very disappointing for the children with us.

Lovely period property, within a short walk from the beach, nice period features, comfortable beds and sofas, great kitchen, equipped well. A nice homely feel, good for family get together. Enjoyed the games room off the garden. Loads of parking on street or room for one car on driveway behind garden gate or infront of gate for small car. Host very helpful and responsive to messages. Lovely property obviously still under renovation. Rooms were to die for, wonderful sizes and shapes with the exception of the main bathroom which was very small. Property was comfortable and a little quirky in places. Downsides, minor problem most of the downstairs doors would stay closed making it difficult to restrict my dog and the Games Room which my husband and son were looking forward to use was not only small which we knew before visit but did not have a single cue that they could use on the Pool table, one was totally snapped and the other had no tip so no use at all. Very disappointed with Games Room.

The only reason I gave 45 for maintenance was that there was a problem with the downstairs toilet. However, we reported it midmorning on the Monday, and a maintenance man was there the same afternoon brilliant service! It's a lovely house, very near the beautifully clean beach at Pakefield. We'd certainly return in the future.

We loved the Victorian House, the roominess etc. We could not find a vacuum cleaner to whizz around and only on the last evening discovered dustpan and brush to sweep up a bit. There seems to be a problem with the drains as the outside drain was always overflowing if we had showers and dishwasher on. The location of being near the sea good and all in all good. The house was well equipped and we enjoyed our stay. Michael Dixon

Nice reasonably priced house. Bathroom very small and could do with hooks and towel rail. Games room unusable! Host very helpful .

Great location, very clean on arrival, secure garden for dogs, great off road parking, good communication from owner. 2 small issues solved very quickly. Will definitely stay again.

House could be amazing but TLC needed. Garden complete mess so could not use it. General repairs needed around the house. Well situated close to beach and amenities

Perfect accommodation for the family with excellent kitchen and dining facilities. Pool room was great fun and lounge very relaxing.

beautiful cottage for 7 persons BUT only 2 spoons, 5 forks, no dish or salad bowls. No big bowls for tea or coffee. Very insufficient dishes.... The beds are not comfortable. We felt all the springs of each bed.

Perfect location and very welcoming. Nespresso coffee machine was a great touch.

I rented this house for my son and his family while they were visiting from America. The house was warm and welcoming, clean and comfortable, and suited them perfectly. It is in a convenient position for the beach and the town.

The house itself is lovely and decorated nicely although could definitely do with some TLC. The location for the beach is great and parking good. However we were disappointed at the cleanliness of the house. We appreciate it allows dogs, however we werent expecting there to be dog hair everywhere. We could not sit on the carpet to play with the children without getting covered in white dog hair and were not impressed to find black dog hair in the bed not just one or two hairs either. There is nowhere to hang coats or put shoes because the coat cupboard is full of boxes and with 7 of us staying at this time of year we had a lot of coats and boots. Overall we enjoyed our stay but would not stay in sunshine house again.
