Elkhorn Reviews

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Elkorn. The sea views, the sound of the waves and the lighthouse visible from the house were highlights. Being able to park the car outside and walk everywhere made everything convenient. The house was remarkably spacious for our group and came with a superbly equipped kitchen, plus a generous selection of bedrooms and bathrooms. The thoughtful welcome gift was greatly appreciated. All in all, we had a wonderful relaxing holiday.
All was well, apart from some empty crisp packets in the bedside drawer in one of the top floor rooms, which must have been missed by the cleaners on the day that we arrived. Everything else was very clean.

This property is perfectly suited to families. It is spacious and well maintained throughout. The location is excellent being five minutes walk from both the beach and the town!
Lovely stay, house was perfect position for beach, town, pier etc.
The kitchen was well equipped for a group, and the house perfectly located to walk to the town and beach. Spacious, comfortable, well furnished property in excellent location. Happy that we could store all our bikes in the rear garden. Feedback for improvements and maintenance issues 1. Back gate needs to be fixed or replaced. Impossible to lock without lifting whole gate. We used to move our bikes in and out so was extremely difficult and required a very strong individual. 2. The toilet in bathroom 1 on first floor gets stuck on flush at times and water doesn't stop running unless you prod the flush mechanism 3. please check the front doorbell as we believe it didn't work. 4. Chopping knives need sharpening 5. Bath and shower gel would be nice to have this is provided in almost all Airbnb properties 6. Property details need correction says bring tea towels but they are supplied, and should be, as this is standard in Airbnb properties. 7. Please amend property details to include helpful information regarding storing bikes in patio garden.

We managed to get in earlier which was appreciated. The bottle of wine and biscuits were a nice touch as well. House was amazing and so close to the sea, pier and town centre. We could not fault the house or location. Found a gluten free food only bakerycafe at the end of the high street, as well as lots of nice bakeries, cafes and pubs.
We were particularly impressed by the thoughtfulness of the cleaners, Sandra and Keel, who kept us informed of progress on the day we arrived, and their efficiency, which meant that we could move our luggage in at 3 pm, an hour ahead of schedule.
Overall a very pleasant and wellappointed property. Disabled access at the front door would be helpful. I found it very difficult getting my mobility scooter into the front hallway to charge its battery and keep it safe and out of the rain.
It is a lovely house, has everything you need
Elkhorn was absolutely beautiful, as a group of 7 friends, we loved it from the minute we stepped through the door. Comfortable beds and lovely bed linen. Great choice and Im sure we will be back.
A large, warm, comfortable and very well equipped house. Perfect for families. The two lounges were brilliant for separating the football fans watching tv from the more cerebral sedentary crew.
Excellent roomy house, plenty of space to escape ! Ideally situated too, generally speaking we had no trouble parking close by with 3 cars. Nice touch got a call because there was no one in the property the night before us was ready for us to go in before heck in time. If I had a minor quibble, holiday properties tend to have a supply of 2nd hand books, puzzles or games which were mentioned, luckily we bought our own supply. Also perhaps for people not used to the area maybe some tourist type leaflets note no longer a Tourist Information centre in town. But we thoroughly enjoyed our stay 6 adults and would defintely rebook this our 2nd visit to Elkhorn.
A really nice big house felt that a bit more could have been done with the back yard which was a bit dull. Did not fancy trying to down stairs shower room which needed a bit of up dating. The Belling cooker was fine for us but not sure it would work for a full house. Otherwise, of the many Best of Suffolks we have stayed in, this was a good one.
