Henstead Hall is an incredible large property and so well furnished. So many rooms and had everything for an amazing weekend away with friends.

The house exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. From the size and space of the property and rooms to the smaller details like 2 toasters and 2 dishwashers we felt a lot of thought had been put into the house. We loved the games room, the large garden, the large beds and so much space. It felt very grand, perfect for a big family celebration and we hope to stay again. Outside the house we found the Five Bells pub did an excellent roast and Southwold provided a great beach day. Elizabeth the host was lovely and welcoming.

Henstead Hall is impressively grand and has been beautifully renovated. There were 11 of us staying and we could fit comfortably around the table in the kitchen. We had a very happy and comfortable stay. It would help those with mobility issues if it were made clear that there are stairs between the ground floor bedroom and its shower room.

We had a wonderful time with family and two small dogs. The house was very special and great for a family gathering. Had an Easter Egg Hunt in the garden which the children and adults loved! Also had lots of great meals, the kitchen was fully equipped and having two dishwashers was fantastic. Lovely clean bedding and comfy beds. Would love to come again.

We spent Christmas week here last month, 2025. The party totalled 16 people in total, 13 adults, two children and one infant. Henstead Hall is an exceptional place. The kitchen is spacious and adjoins a well proportioned space for casual dining. Next door is a large and well lit dining room. The lounge room was large enough to accommodate all of us at one time, though we did have to bring in additional seating from other rooms. The billiard room comprising full sized snooker table was a lovely surprise. The 8 comfortable bedrooms ranged in size and most provided lovely views of the surrounding Suffolk countryside. The only real inadequacy was the small laundry room under the stairs. Overall, a highly recommendable place for larger groups. We would certainly return if visiting the area in future.

Fantastic stay at Henstead hall for a group birthday. The house was spacious and had everything we needed. There was a slight problem with the heating and water but the just came round quickly to help sort out. House was well heated and cooking facilities were well equipped with everything you would need and plenty of space for everyone to sit together. Would 100 recommend and would love to return!

Thank you so much for our stay, we had a wonderful time. Especially grateful for sorting out the few requests we had, we really appreciate it. We found the house to be in a pretty location and perfect for our big group. Playing cricket and the kids loved the gardens. There is a charcoal BBQ. The owner was really kind and I was able to plug my electric car in 3 pin plug, for a charge. Very helpful.

Fabulous house with plenty of room for a large multi generational family, age 2 92. Easy access to lots of lovely places and beaches. Lots of kitchen equipment and snooker table was great. If I could add anything perhaps some children's play equipment in the garden and the possibility of hiring a hot tub would be the icing on the cake. Many thanks for a great holiday , we hope to be back.

As always, a great pleasure to be able to stay at Henstead Hall. This was our fourth year running with our family. It has maintained high standards throughout and all credit goes to those who take care of it.

This was the perfect place for our family get together. Top notch facilities, extremely clean and comfortable. The wonderful weather a piano and full size snooker table made our holiday priceless!

All twelve adults 1 Baby 2 Dogs had the best time . Was amazed at the high spec of all equipment from high chair to ovens air fryer was a nice touch the BBQ was amazing Beds the best ive slept on pillows out of this world. All showers for an old building water pressure and temp spot on. Would really of liked abit more info about the house. History ect Thank you

We had a lovely stay at Henstead Hall a group of 16 adult friends. The house was so very well equipped. The welcome 'bubbles' was very much appreciated. It is a fabulous space to enjoy a get together without getting in each others way! Thoroughly recommend this holiday house rental you wont be disappointed!

We enjoyed our stay. Fabulous home, there were 15 of us and there was room for us all . Great house . We found out that you can actually hire a jacuzzi for the day etc but it was too short notice for us. The only problem we had was the first night where the house was so cold.Its a huge house so would be nice to have it warmed up before guests come otherwise it takes over a day to warm up. Once the heating was on the next day it was fine.Great area too in the town, so pretty and beach was lovely too for the dogs. x

This was my wifes 70th birthday celebration and included our family and some friends. The place is fantastic really, very well appointed, everything provided and huge amounts of space. The kids loved running around the various floors burning off energy while the adults could chill in the spacious lounge or play snooker. Fantastic really.

We had a wonderful stay celebrating my fathers 80th birthday with the family everybody loved the house great facilities loved the snooker room and the large bedrooms. Would definitely stay again .

A fabulous house for our family get together. As we walked in the door we felt a big hug envelope us, and remained throughout our stay. Kitchen catered well for the number of people with plenty of utensils, crockery, glassware and extras. Everything was perfect for our needs. Thankyou so much.

We were all hugely impressed with everything about Henstead Hall. Our Host was very helpful and welcoming. The Hall itself is incredibly impressive. Cleanliness, bedding, bathrooms, furniture, kitchen facilities were all of the highest standard. We strongly recommend it.

An ideal property for large family friends gatherings , beautiful gardens , very well equipped kitchen , cannot fault anything about the house . Had a wonderful week with friends.

This is a beautiful property, well furnished, we were a family of 10, grown up grandchildren in 20s, plus parents and a grandmother. The billiard room was well used, plus the games in the garden even though they were for younger children. The only slight downside is the property is very remote, not able to walk to a pubshop etc. Overall we had a lovely weekend.

An excellent place to stay for a very special family gettogether. Plenty of space for everyone. Extremely wellequipped kitchen with fabulous appliances. Snooker table, piano, jigsaw puzzles and books were all made use of. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to enjoy the garden as much as we would have liked but it was beautiful. The garden furniture was lovely and the little pavilion provided shelter from the showers. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We had an amazing time here, 17 of us across four generations celebrating a special birthday. Henstead Hall was spacious, spotlessly clean, and well equipped with beautiful gardens and a fantastic games room.

The property was excellent in all aspects. The snooker room was a big hit with everyone and caused much hilarity. The dining room was great as it sat all 12 of us comfortably as was the kitchen. The only problem we had was the downstairs toilet door lock trapped a person inside twice and had to be rescued.Other than that we had a fabulous weekend and would not hesitate to go back anytime Many thanks Michael

Shower on first floor bathroom with roll top bath the water did not drain away, so couldnt use. Apart from that, its a great place to stay

Amazing house perfect for large families and groups of friends. We celebrated a milestone birthday and had so much fun!

The perfect accommodation for a large family friends group to celebrate a 30th birthday. kitchen is modern and very well appointed. Bedrooms and ensuits are huge. Snooker room and piano room kept us well entertained. Dining room ideal for that special birthday meal. Sufficient space to lose yourself for quite time. All our guests knew they were staying somewhere special as they drove through the gates, and saw the house for the first time. An excellent week, and a great time had by all.

Beautiful house with everything we needed for the 60th birthday celebrations. Fully equipped kitchen with plenty of crockery, pots and pans for us to use. Warm comfortable and spacious, snooker room popular with the fellows!

We absolutely loved our stay at Henstead Hall, it is perfectly suited to our group of friends who meet up once a year for walking and catching up with each other. The bedrooms were all large and airy and the communal rooms were big enough to all be together for games and chilling. The billiard room was a big hit. We even had good enough weather to sit outside and enjoy the garden in October! This is a house wed all happily come back to.

We had a wonderful family of 14 holiday at Henstead Hall. Lovely, huge house in tranquil garden. The bedrooms were all interesting with very comfortable beds. Kitchen is perfect and well equipped. Lots of local activities available with excellent quiet beaches nearby. Thank you

We booked this property for our family as part of our Ruby wedding anniversary celebrations. The property was lovely and a very spacious place to stay. The kitchen was well equipped and we made good use of the large grounds. Southwold was an easy drive for a day on the beach and Tesco in Beccles was convenient for shopping.

What a glorious weekend at Henstead Hall. Stunning property and great location. Arrived to find a very nice welcome pack and property in tip top condition. There was plenty of everything you could ever wish for and more. .. the whole group loved it and hopes to return.

The property was excellent however, there were two issues and neither was properly addressed. Firstly, during the stay it was necessary for some bedding to be washed due to a small child being ill. By late afternoon it was clear that the bedding would not be dry enough to reuse that night and I therefore requested fresh bedding via the website. None was forthcoming. Secondly, one of the guests left an orthopaedic pillow behind when we left. I quickly informed you prior to the new guests arriving as I thought the cleaners would be able to retrieve it and send it on. I even informed you of the room that the pillow would be in. The pillow was not retrieved. Six days later, after chasing this up twice, I received an email saying that the pillow could not be found. This is not good enough. I wonder if the property owners even actually looked for it. Very unsatisfactory.

As a big family of 15 we loved our stay here. Plenty of room and things to do. The kitchen was so well equipped. 2 dishwashers. 2 fridge freezers and so much crockery and cutlery nothing worse than not having enough for a big group like that. The garden is fantastic and all of the house amazing. Only thing we felt as a family was the kitchen was so far from the garden and games room where most of the family were and as spent so much time cooking you feel a bit isolated. We loved it here but prefer a more open plan home so we can be more social. Thats just personal preference though. Nothing wrong with this property at all. Its stunning. Thank you

It would be interesting to have some information of the history of the house. We selected this property because ther was a piano We were disappointed because the piano had not been maintained or tuned and was unusable for our rehearsal. Depite my enquiries nobody could inform me inadvance on the state of the piano. If I had been told that the piano was out of tune we would have selected another property.

The drink tray in one of the fridges broke, so we left a note, but otherwise a fantastic stay in a beautiful house. It was a perfect way to celebrate two big family birthdays with 4 generations of the family all together.

Fabulous property, perfect in every way for our family to celebrate our Mother's 90th Birthday, all 14 of us. The venue was a surprise, Mum thought it was amazing. Perfect!!

Please post my name as Maria. Henstead Hall is certainly something to behold, its perfect for a large familyfriend get together which is what we were. Each bedroom was very comfortable and the bathroom facilities were plentiful which means youre never short of somewhere to shower or bathe. We couldnt believe the size of the property and having a formal dining room was great because we could feed the young kids in the kitchen where we didnt have to worry about spillages on the solid flooring, but for our meals we could retire to the more formal dining room although the dining room was large enough to seat us all if needed. The billiards room with games was a great room used by us all and the large drawing room has enough seating for all. I think the property is ideal for families as its not a museum, but is still well kept. Bedding and towels are of a good quality so it felt like a proper holiday. The kitchen is well appointed with two dishwashers, plenty of cooking pots and pans, and something to note which wasnt clear on the listing is that in the kitchen there are two fridge freezers the kind with a larger fridge and smaller 3 drawer freezer under. It suited us fine for a group of 16 for a week. The only thing I thought was missing was a food processorblender type thing for soups, mass chopping onions. There was a small issue early in our stay because it seems the ladybirds living locally had come out of hibernation, but the owners were swift to do an extra clean of the property to remove the additional visitors. I think the property represents good value for money, is nicely located for shops in Beccles and the seaside and other attractions. Id definitely recommend it for groups of friends and families.
