Lovely house in a perfect location. So.lovely to arrive to a warm clean house and decorated for christmas! Really good quality fittings, fixings, furniture, bedding and towels plenty of room for 5 adults. Good range of crockery, glasses etc in the kitchen and large table. Beds were comfy. Only negatives no wardrobe space in any other rooms apart from.master and a TV bracket in living room would be beneficial as you can't see TV from 2nd sofa.

The property was stunning and we were overall very pleased with the decision to stay at Heron House for our various family birthday celebrations. The rooms were very tastefully furnished and to a very high standard. The bed linen were all of a good quality cotton as were the towels in each room. The kitchen was well equipped for the number of guests, only thing perhaps needed would be a couple of flat baking trays for heating food, but otherwise there was enough items of crockery and cutlery. Only a couple of minor housekeeping issues the main ceiling light in the living room was not working so and there were bulbs out in the other ceiling light at the other end of the lounge so that was disappointing as although there were other lamps at times it would have been nice to have more overhead lighting. Happily recommend Heron House if you would like to stay very near to the sea front and easy access to the shops. We had a fantastic view of the lighthouse from the back of the house it looked stunning and was virtually in the back garden! A pub just a couple minutes walk as was the sea front. So all in all a lovely stay in a beautiful house surrounded by all the amenities that Southwold has to offer .
We really enjoyed our stay and the comfortable accommodation was perfect for our family needs. Heron House is in a very convenient location.
We had a wonderful stay at Heron House. It was such a comfortable house and finished to a high standard. The only slight downside was not enough storage for clothes. My mum staying in the purple room had to keep most of her clothes in her suitcase for the week. But that should not detract from what is a very lovely house. The master suite is exceptional with a wonderful sea view.
We love it at Heron House great stay as always
Beautiful house. Excellent location. Ideal family layout.
Steven
Great property, perfect for what we were looking for and ideal for 3 couples. Has everything you need and is in a brilliant location, with decent parking available. We will definitely return.
Michael
A perfectly located character property for a visit to this stunning town. Views of the sea, a pub around the corner and an endless variety of excellent dog walks.
Holiday cottage was really lovely and suited us perfectly 2 couples and 3 grown up children. We enjoyed being close to the centre of Southwold and the beach and only a short walk from the Sole Bay Inn. The kitchen was well equipped with good quality appliances. There was plenty of hot water at all times and the house was warm and cosy on chillier mornings. A great place to stay.
Really lovely property. Very clean with comfy beds and very good quality bedding and towels. Excellently equipped kitchen. There were 7 adults and we all had a fabulous weekend, the only improvement we would suggest is another comfy chair in the lounge as it was a bit of a squeeze on the sofas and the one chair which we moved from the other end of the lounge. Have already rebooked for later in the year!
We love Heron House and will definitely return again.
Amanda
The house was lovely and had everything we needed. It was a great location too, right in the middle of town. Parking was easy on the road outside. I would definitely recommend this house.
House is lovely beautifully decorated and equipped. We have stayed in many houses over the years in Southwold and this rates in the top 3. Excellent position for beach and town. Well equipped kitchen. Beds comfortable and large. Courtyard garden perfect for an early morning coffee. Would return without question.
Excellent stay yet again! We love the house and its perfect for our little family all three generations
Fantastic house. We will absolutely be using this property again. All dealings with Sykes Cottages was professional, helpful and easy. Great competitive price.
Elaine
Perfect choice and location for a big three generational family holiday, close to the beach and town allowing for quick trips back to house as needed. Booked Heron House as it gave the perfect combination for our requirements. A separate floor for our son, daughter in law and two young grandsons and then a separate room and ensuite for our other son and his girlfriend. Big bonus being our eldest grandson adored being able to see the lighthouse from his bedroom window! Much care and attention has been given to ensuring everything you could need is available throughout the house. Hope to return.
Fabulous location for our group of 8 friends who were in Southwold for a big bike ride. Kitchen was big enough for us all to prepare food at the same time with plenty of space to sit and relax
We loved Heron House, it is a really beautiful house with great facilities and is in a fantastic position for easy access to the town and the beach. It was beautifully furnished and very well equipped, especially the kitchen. We particularly loved the bed linen and white, soft fluffy towels. The book of instructions and information is one of the best we have come across. There was a problem with a blocked drain which meant the dishwasher wouldn't work properly, but we reported this and the next day a charming young man came and sorted it all out. We were very impressed.
Michael
A very good property in a great position. Very comfortable and easy to relax in. Cleaning generally good but details missed eg shelves in kitchen dusty, table mats not clean. Some maintenance issues, manageable but unsatisfactory eg kettle leaks, oven thermostat faulty. Street parking always able to park in sight of house, visiting in September, but might be a bit unpredictable on busy days.
Very nice property, close to the beach. Down side is the parking, especially as we had 2 cars with us. Also greasy finger marks on the kitchen units. Bedrooms good. The outside is disappointing. I think the term patio is a misnomer.. Id call it a back yard. 4 chairs going rusty and a minuscule table.
First class property, had everything we needed for an excellent holiday in Southwold.
We were staying with two other couples who are well travelled and have very high expectations so it was a bit nerve wracking for me but I needn't have worried they were all very impressed with every aspect of the property. The location was exceptional of course but the standard of fixtures and fittings, cleanliness and the overall ambience of the property together made for a very special holiday. Nothing but compliments from us! Thank you for allowing us to share your home.
Superb location, the lighthouse is almost in the back yard, Well appointed accommodation, very suitable for mixed generation holiday.
