Harbour Lights Reviews

Harbour Lights is an exceptional holiday home. Very comfortable for our group of 6 adults, a baby and two dogs. An easy 1520 minute walk into Southwold and a 5 minute stroll to the harbour area. Off road parking is very convenient. Check in was straightforward. washing machine, outside washing line and tumble dryer came in handy The kitchen is well equipped. One minor problem leaky shower was rectified very quickly but with 4 shower rooms it was not an isue at all. The nespresso machine takes the large pods and the slot machines by the pier take 2p's! Some great restaurauntsfish and chips within easy reach. The lightouse tour was amazing, all in all a wonderful holiday.

We love staying here. Its a beautiful house, it gives us the opportunity to spend time with family. Its beautifully maintained, and we love the homely touches it has. And its so peaceful, which if you have stressful jobs is a godsend. Lots of lovely places to eat out and the best fish and chips from Mrs Ts. We are already booked to return. Thank you Ines

We enjoyed a fantastic New Year stay at Harbour Lights. Lovely comfy house to snuggle up in, wonderful treats from the owner to welcome us, perfect location for wandering into town along the beach and exploring further over into Walberswick and plenty of space to park!
Amanda
Our stay In The Harbour Lights could not of been better for our Christmas break, the Christmas tree lovely touch! delicious homemade cake and bottle of fizz you left for us that was very kind and much appreciated. The house is fabulous and exceeded our expectations! Everything is extremely well appointed, and very comfortable. Everyone complimented the beds and had a great nights sleep! We enjoyed having the log fire which was very cosy and festive. It really is the perfect place to stay in Southwold for a large group and location for the dogs couldn't be better. Our Christmas dinner turned out really well and we found everything we needed in the kitchen. We will definitely be back
This was our 3rd visit and it was just as wonderful. We love the position, cant beat a winter walk on the beach. We did cook in the house so appreciated all the kitchen equipment. On arrival the house was clean, love the Christmas tree & complimentary fizz. The beds large & comfortable, towels large & fluffy. Booked again for next year.
This was our third stay at Harbour Lights and as always the accomodation is excellent. The children love staying here as they have the beach on the doorstep and are able to play outside for hours safely.
Amanda
Our second stay at Harbour Lights & just as good as our first! Loved every minute of our week to celebrate my 70th! Comfy beds, bedding & sofas, what more could we want!Everything provided plus banana cake & fizzy wine on arrival! Yummy! Thank you Inez! Thank goodness Mrss Ts was open again! Love walking along the harbour, dunes, beach & into town as always & tried out the Sail Loft this time. Will hopefully be back again in the future! This property comes highly recommended by all of us who have shared our times here!
A lovely spacious property, set on the beach with great views of the sea and harbour. It has four good size double bedrooms and ample car parking for at least four cars. Harbour lights is about 15 minutes pleasant walk along the beach path to Southwold town centre or 5 minutes stroll to the harbour and the row boat ferry to Walberswick. A beautiful very well appointed house and we look forward to visiting again.

The accommodation and location, so close to the beach are brilliant. Our party consisted of 7 people ranging in age from 4 to 94 and all were very happy with the week. We have been to this property 3 years in a row. However this time there were a few disappointing points. On arrival the glass bin was 34's full. The freezer door was frozen up and would not close. I scrapped the ice off in order to get it to close. There are a number of loose wires Wi Fi I think in a none secured box behind a sittee. Maybe dangerous or cause the internet to fail. Other than that it was a great week. Graham

We are just home from a wonderful weeks stay at Harbour lights. The house itself is beautiful and tastefully decorated. Everything had been thought of. The location was just perfect, right on the beach with the town just a 10 min walk away. The house was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. We really liked the information booklet the host had put together. All the information anyone would need during their stay. We couldn't fault this property and would love to return.
This is a great property. I marked down the listing as I don't think the photos do it justice! We are 4 adults dad, two sisters and a grandson and it was brilliant to have a bathroom each. The beds are really comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. The lounge is lovely, with views to the grass, dunes and sea. We loved the Farrow and Ball decor. The location is perfect for a restful week and you are in the sea within a minute of leaving the house. You can pop to the Sail Loft for a quick drink, and the panini's from the nearby kiosk are tasty. Highly recommend this property.
We loved our stay at Harbour lights. Beautiful views and a beautiful house. Had everything we needed for our stay. Comfortable beds and sofas I would love to go again. And you can hear the sea and see the sea from your bed. Would love to go again.
Claire
Another fantastic stay at Harbour Lights with the extended family. This wonderful house in a fantastic location is superb and likely to be an annual event with 3 generations of the family and their dogs enjoying everything it has to offer. We celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary there this year We make full use of all the facilities they have everything you could need in the home and enjoyed eating out at Sole Bay, Coasters, The Anchor in Walberswick and the Sail Loft to name a few of the local eateries. This year the weather was extremely good and beach days for the grandchildren and early beach walks for the dogs to avoid the heat were wonderful. We will be back and we are so pleased to have found this perfect house and location!
A fabulous property which I can't fault. It was very clean, with a well stocked kitchen and soft snuggly beds. It was lovely to be able to sit in a well tended garden and to have a barbecue to use too. The beach being on the doorstep was an added bonus and so was the sunshine. Thank you for the welcome lemon drizzle cake and the fizzy wine both which we consumed whilst sitting outside listening to the sea. We had a splendid family holiday.
Loved our stay would book again
Simply stunning! Such a perfect location and lovely space and layout both inside and outside. With 4 double bedrooms and 4 bathrooms its great for extended family. Weve been fans of Southwold for generations, but this property brings it to another level.. so so relaxing. Weve already repeat booked for next year. Only slight negative, we were only supplied 4 loo rolls for 8 people for 7 days, maybe an oversight? Already looking forward to returning next year
The property was absolutely gorgeous and the location was a dream. Southwold itself is beautiful Harbour Lights surpassed our expectations. The cake and the champagne in the fridge blew us away. Will definitely be back thanks for making g our time away so memorable.
Gaynor
Dear Inez Thank you again for letting us stay in your wonderful home. The changes didn't go un noticed and are lovely. It never disappoints and the weather was amazing. We are already looking forward to returning next year. Take care
Adrian
Great location, especially for citybased dog owners. Our puppy discovered rabbits for the first time.
This was my second stay at Harbour Lights and it was as good as the first time. We were very lucky with the weather and able to walk along the beach into Southwold. Also walked to Walberswick for a delicious Sunday lunch at The Bell. Lovely house with everything you need for 8 people.
Catherine
We had a great Christmas at Harbour Lights. The kitchen was well equipped so that we could cook Christmas dinner and the lounge was open plan with the kitchen which meant that all were included. The garden backs out to the sand dunes which was fabulous for our 2 dogs who could literally go straight out the back off their leads. They had a great time on the dunes and the beach. My mum who is can only walk short distances, managed to get to the beach from the house using the back gate to get some of that much needed sea air. The beds were so comfortable we were out like a light every evening. We had the best time. Can only imagine what it's like in the summer as the garden backing onto the beach must be great!
This was our second stay at harbour lights and will definitely be back. This time was just before Christmas and the delight on my grandchildren's faces to see a lovely decorated tree. The woodburning fire really added to the atmosphere. The layout and decor is perfect, with big comfortable beds. The property was spotlessly clean and welcoming bottle of Adams champagne. So ideally located for children and dogs on the dunes and walking distance to the town. Lovely property and all facilities you need. Will be back and highly recommend.
This was our 2nd year staying at Harbour Lights and it was just as good as we remembered. Brilliant position for winter walks on the beach. The house is extremely comfortable & was very clean on our arrival. The mince pies were a bonus we didnt expect. The kitchen was very well equipped, with everything we needed for our stay. The beds were extremely comfortable, could probably done with a higher tog duvet for our December stay. Such a wonderful place to stay in Southwold weve booked again for next year.
This is our second stay at this property. It is comfortable and warm. The only slight niggle is the upstairs shower which tends to go from freezing to scalding in a minute alteration of the temperature dial. Apart from the above we have nothing but praise for the house. With its position right on the dunes our grandchildren were never indoors, and the weather was very kind consideing it was late October.
A wonderful few days in this lovely house, right on the beach. A perfect spot to walk into Southwold and Walberswick.
Graham
This was the third year that we stayed at Harbour Lights so obviously we think it is great. Its suits our family very well with age from 93 to 3,
Claire
A fantastic week at Harbour Lights with the children and grandchildren. This property had everything you could need and more, so well equipped and plenty of room, great big comfy beds and lots of bathrooms. The location was fabulous and the dogs came home content and exhausted. The weather started off a bit hit and miss, but we managed to get out every day and enjoyed a memorable trip to Walberswick by boat for Father's Day and a great lunch at The Anchor, plenty of lovely long walks for the dogs and beach time for the children. We will certainly be back, Harbour Lights is one of best properties we have EVER stayed in. We loved The Sail Loft and Soul Bay for various meals. Southwold is one of favourite Suffolk coast locations, but this house took it to another level. Huge thanks to the owners who have thought of every last detail and provide what is definitely a first class experience for holiday makers. We'll see you next year for sure.
Angela
Lovely house, clean and well equipped. Loved our stay. Would recommend and would stay again. We were disappointed that we didnt get a welcome pack having read the reviews as to how good they are, but it wouldnt stop us from returning.
Gaynor
This was our 2nd stay at Harbour Lights and it didn't disappoint. The fact that the weather was absolutely glorious helped but the house itself feels very welcoming and safe. Everything you need is there and in a very good , spotlessly clean condition. Books and games to keep you occupied if the weather was bad. I had arranged for a delivery of food from Sainsburys which arrived Friday shortly after we had booked in. We ordered a takeaway for delivery on the Saturday evening from the local chinese which was delicious. We look forward to coming back next year
Sally-ann
We stayed at Harbour Lights for a long weekend and had the most wonderful time. The location is perfection, straight out of the garden gate and onto the beach, plus the super close proximity to the town. The owners have done an exceptional job with the house in terms of design, layout and comfort and also with the additional touches logs, kindling, matches, kitchen cooking and bathroom basics, like hand wash with every sink, which you don't get everywhere even at other high end properties. This is especially great for a long weekend v a longer stay. We loved it so much we booked for another long weekend later in the year while still there, I think that probably says it all! Thanks so much x
We have visited Southwold on many occaisions. This visit was perfect, walks along the beach and then back to harbour Lights to hunker down and listen to the winter storms outside. This house is well equipped and perfect for our group. Thanks to all for providing a great place to stay.
The house is in a great position not far from the Walberswick foot ferry. Despite it being the end of October, the weather was very kind. We were celebrating a family birthday for which the accommodation was perfect. It was an added bonus that there was a car charging point as one of our party had an electric car. There was everything available in the house to make a comfortable week end we loved the decor and furnishings it is a lovely seaside house.
A very easy and quick service to book. The property was superb with everything we could possibly have wanted, right down to games to keep the children amused. The location couldn't have been better for access to Southwold town, the Walberswick ferry and the lifeboat museum. The situation was ideal with the beach so close and plenty of space for the children to expend all thier energy.
Katherine
Beautiful property in a fabulous location right next to the beach and a short walk to the harbour in one direction and Southwold town centre in the other. Harbour Lights is clean and cosy and the well equipped kitchen, ample parking, home from home comforts and little touches make it a great location for a family holiday or escape for a group of friends. Highly recommended!
Graham
This was the second year at Harbour Lights which tells you something. It was as good as before. This is good as there were 2 young children with us. We had an issue with the kitchen tap which was handled very efficiently even though it was over a bank holiday. We've already booked again for 2024!!
Excellent location, and well maintained and furnished.
This property is wonderful. It was very well equipped with everything we needed. The location is stunning. Weve been coming to Southwold for the past 30 years and have many to compare with. 3 generations 5 adults and 2 small children were all very comfortable and the weather was wonderful. Just a couple of niggles No welcome goodies, which were mentioned in the greetings. I asked if we could have a stair gate my 2 year old granddaughter was sleeping in a upstairs bedroom but was told that it wasnt in the description and that the owner would not provide one. A light haired dog must have been staying the week before us and for the first 45 days I hoovered twice a day and picked up several hoover full of dog hair, from the floor, rug, carpet, bean bag, sofa and throws. Thank you for sharing your property
Samantha
It was like a home from home, every little detail was well thought out. There was more available than we thought , we could have packed less. What a convenient location between 2 beautiful townsvillages. The dogs were in heaven with the access to the beach. There were 8 of us staying for my mums 80th and we did not feel on top of eachother as there was plenty of space and bathrooms. Would highly recommend!
