Pebbles Reviews

Perfect in every way. We have stayed at Pebbles once before. For us it is the most perfect house for a holiday in Southwold. We have stayed in many different properties in Southwold over 40 years at various times in a year. Hopefully it will not be our last at Pebbles.
We love Southwold & this was our 4th stay at Pebbles. Great for a large family get together especially as there is an ensuite to every bedroom. Pebbles is well equipped & the welcome box is a lovely touch. The only minus is the pans need replacing. They are looking a bit tired, & a large casserole dish for cooking would be a plus. We have booked Pebbles for 2027!!
A beautiful comfortable property with everything needed for a lovely stay in beautiful Southwold.
Madeleine
What an incredible house. It was immaculate and presented so well. Every room was light & fresh. The kitchen was well equipped my only comment would be to have some flat baking trays rather than deep dish ones. We were so close to the sea and the views were amazing, considering how close we were to the road it was just so peaceful and calm inside the house. Another small thing would be the lack of mirrors in bedrooms including a full long length mirror. In the front downstairs bedroom one with the tv in there was no mirror other than in the bathroom so when it came to drying youre hair you didnt have a mirror as couldnt plug youre hairdryer into the bathroom! These are really only tiny tiny things, nothing that impacted are stay whatsoever but just thought Id mention them as every other thing had been thought of which lots of lovely details and touches throughout the house. Before we had even left the house I was looking at booking again for my 30th birthday next year sadly no availability but we all were sad to leave such a wonderful place! It was ideal for our group to spend a wholesome weekend for my sisters hen party, such a great house with plenty of space to host and to not be on top of each other! Thanks so much!
Absolutely perfect. The best equipped holiday home we have had. I can never get on with an induction hob but all holiday homes seem to have them. However, as there are two ovens it was easy to buy all meals that could be cooked in the oven. House is well positioned in Southwold, walking distance to everything but nice and quiet at night.

Fabulous location, great downstairs space overlooking the sea and pier. Great offstreet parking and useful garage for storing bikes. Plus, Southwold is great!
Superb property in a fabulous location. Quality of the decoration, amenities, and facilities were excellent. The owners have really thought about what would make their guests comfortable and their stay complete. Spacious and well laid out it accommodates 8 adults really well. We had a great week.
Definitely the best place we have stayed in as a family group. Clean, lovely decor, well thought out. We cannot fault it! We will definitely be back!
Yvonne
We had two en suites up stairs we found neither had hot water only tepid water for showering We were plagued with ants in the lounge which was not great. Found them on the table and making their way into the kitchen House is beautiful. 2 nd time there and loved the view. Does get very warm in the lounge when the sun was shinning. Not sure it might be too hot in the summer
Such a beautiful house in perfect location for a four generations family gathering ! Will definitely be booking again !
The property was lovely. we had a great week. the area is perfect for great walks, the town, views etc. would come again.
Pebbles is in a great location, large and generally well appointed. One or two problems Towel rail in ensuite of downstairs front bedroom dangerously hot as it is bang next to the toilet. All the ensuites hot and no instructions as to how to adjust this. We could not find the appliance instructions they were not in the specified drawer, or any other one. The TV signal was intermittent the first night it would only work for 10 minutes, then announced that there was no signal. The gales over the weekend highlighted the fact that the windows in the front bedroom do not seal properly the blind was waving around all night. The battery in the blind in the front downstairs bedroom went flat and we could not find the charger. We would have liked to ask about some of these things but no email contact details. Text and whatsapp for new bookings only. Phone not good for me as poor hearing makes talking and listening on a mobile phone difficult.

Lovely property, location great, will definitely be back
The best property we have stayed in and we have stayed in many. It has a great position 2 mins from the sea and pier. Very spacious inside. The open plan living area is large and there's plenty of room for my wheelchair to turn. The bedrooms with en suites are all large as well. There is a substantially well equipped kitchen, so much so that the equipment we bring just in case was not necessary. Everything you are likely to need in the kitchen, with floor to ceiling separate fridge and freezer. The front and back gardens are fully enclosed, so perfect for dogs to run around. This would have been even lovelier in the summer, with seating areas back and front. We had problems with the hot water to the shower upstairs, but the maintenance company came out quickly and made some adjustments. The smart TV signal is very erratic and we kept losing it, especially Christmas Day it was missing most of the day. Luckily we have access to streaming services, especially Netflix.

Lovely as always however needs a little bit of TLC in some places!
Fabulous property. So well equipped. Will be booking for next year.
Amanda
Very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped, this property had everything needed for a relaxing holiday. The house has amazing views and is within walking distance of much that Southwold has to offer, the addition of onsite parking is a bonus. We received a prompt response to our question regarding entry to the property from the team at Best of Suffolk and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them

This is a great home to explore southwold and surrounding area Parking for 2 cars was a massive bonus Pebbles is very comfortable has all the kitchen utilities needed and more There were a few added extras such as blankets and a welcome pack which was very thoughtful and appreciated We hope to return
We had a lovely family stay at Pebbles. A few things that would that need attending to. First being the kettle in the kitchen. It needs to be changed and then descaled more often. Secondly, the upstairs bedrooms could do with fans. We had children upstairs and didn't want them to sleep with the window open, and it was too hot. Also, the downstairs shower just floods. Personally, I think it needs changing to a proper shower cubical. The shower mat got soaked every time. It wasn't nice! Saying all that as a family we really enjoyed the Living space inside and the garden. We are 3 generations and it worked for us. We have already booked next for next year!
Overall a lovely place but we have a few maintenance comments No hot water in shower in twin room. Loose hook in shower room in other upstairs bedroom. Loose headboards in twin room. Low, large lightshade above a high bed in front downstairs bedroom. Handheld shower head would be helpful in rear downstairs bedroom. Duvets all 13.5 tog, too much for Summer months. Sofa covers seemed a little shabby for a classy property. Loose brickwork in back garden, potentially a hazard. Thank you
Lovely property in an ideal location.
Christopher
We enjoyed our stay at Pebbles and would revisit. I agreed with the review of Patricia Jun 24 and would like to add that the kettle needs replacing as using for drinks was not pleasant and used the saucepan to make drinks. The upper bedroom toilet roll holder needs repairing. If the owners are remote and use a gardening maintenance company then they need to be reviewed as entrance from the back is very run down and gives a negative first impression. Extra bin bags and remote control batteries would be helpful.
We had a lovely weekend staying at this property, for 7 of us of varying ages it was perfect. Fantastic location, 2 mins from the pier, you can see this from the lounge window and only 10 minutes into the town,
A fantastic property, lots of space and beautiful views across the sea. Well equipped kitchen and good positioning with the high street a few minutes walk away. We had a lovely family break, all the family loved Pebbles and the weather was glorious. Would highly recommend this property for comfort and size. The welcome pack was a lovely addition and greatly appreciated.
The house is stunning, so much space for 8 people. All ensuite, everything and more that you need in the kitchen and even coffee beans for the coffee machine. Not forgetting the view of the sea and pier.
We loved our stay even with the mixed weather. The sitting area overlooking the garden, sea and pier was stylish and comfortable. It was a short distance into Southwold with all the amenities. The bedrooms were all beautifully presented and also comfortable. The kitchen had everything and more than we needed and the dining area was tucked away overlooking the rear garden. I have two suggestions for the owner, firstly an extra comfy chair in the lounge area would be handy especially if 8 guests were staying and secondly some low level fencing where there are gaps in the foliage hedge. I felt the photographs represented the property. We had an issue as the hot water ran out, someone came around to assist us within 10 minutes and sorted the problem , which we really appreciated.
Second time we have stayed at Pebbles. Absolutely perfect. Beds are very comfortable & there is plenty of open plan space for a large group. Very well equipped for 8 people. Situated in a very quiet area near the Pier with a 5 minute walk into the High Street. Will definitely book again
A superb property well located and within a short walk into Southwold. The outlook from the lounge with the panoramic view over the sea and the pier. The kitchen was well equipped and all the fittings were of a very high standard. The four bedrooms, all ensuite were very comfortable. Overall we had a great stay. I would like to personally say thank you to the owners for a great property and the welcome pack.

Loved every minute, we had 2 minature dogs and a cocker, after reading the instructions, we understood, the dogs loved the garden, the lounge window was a view to the world, luxurious accommodation for my family to celebrate my 50th, we have stayed in a lot of big houses for 8, but this was the best, a real wow when we arrived
Despite saying this was pet friendly we found the property not ideal for dogs. The garden is not secure enough and the fences are too low allowing our dog to escape on several occasions. Ideally the rear garden needs sealing off either side so as to be able to keep a dog contained in within an area. We also felt that ideally a separate room for mucky dogs such as a utility room as when the weather is inclement it's difficult to try to keep the house clean. I'd also suggest although the owners choice seagrass rugs aren't ideal as they're very difficult to clean especially if your dog becomes unwell. The only other point is that the patio slabs at the rear of the property when wet are quite slippery.

We loved our stay at pebbles comfy beds and comfy sofas fantastic views to pier and sea everything you need for your holiday we are already talking about a return visit we loved it so much thank you pebbles Just one negative as your dog friendly a gate at the side to stop dogs getting into front garden would be good thank you
Problem with the boiler that was resolved very quickly. Thank you. But also problems with the oven and hob. I think the left hand lower induction ring is not working properly and without instructions for the oven it took a while to work things out. Other than that a lovely location and a very comfortable house. Highly recommend and we will book it again. Thanks.
Jeanette
All round beautiful property easily able to contact you when needed need to provide the key safe code to the front door in the letting details. My one big gripe is that the check in time is too late at 4pm and the check out time much too early at 10am. These are covid timings. Effectively I lost two whole days and it seemed like a very expensive booking for just two full days. Surely you can allow a much later check out?
Excellent facilities, view, proximity to the beach, pier and town. One of the best properties we have stayed in.
Beautiful property, perfect location and well equipped. A couple of small improvements Back gate catch not holding Some TLC for the rear garden, loose bricks etc
Excellent property, well maintained and fitted out and could not be in a better location. There was an error with the key code for the back door not being published in the joining instructions, but this was a minor inconvenience and quickly remedied. All in all a great property and we would stay there again.
We reported a few issues, blocked shower, electrics were tripping, bedding had 13. 5 tog duvets in JUNE!, Handyman arrived next day and sorted shower out, looked at electrics and advised electrician was needed. This did NOT effect our stay as it was heated towel rail causing the problem. Never heard about bedding
Elizabeth
This is an excellent holiday home. Location is great and its modern and well equipped. We are really pleased with our choice. Southwold is a lovely place too.
