Quill Farm Barn Reviews

Quill Farm Barn is excellent accommodation, as listed, and ideally situated for a number of Suffolk attractions. We would have no hesitation in recommending it to others needing a spacious and delightful place to stay.
Saeeda
Brilliant location, marvelous views and we had lots of mindfulness practice, if you shut your eyes and listen to the birds, it seems like you are in an exotic place. We will come again and would recommend to everyone that needs to get out of the city into the beautiful country with lots of trees and breathing space. It was a wonderful break for us.
Dennis
Beautiful premises. Lovely trees with amazing outdoor space. Our youngsters loved to play hide and seek and tennis in the evenings. Superb for our dogs as fencing kept them out of the duckgeese pond which they would have otherwise delighted in going into at temperatures approaching 30C. Plenty of stuff for our group of 12. However we feel the garden chairs needed a bit of TLC . We managed to make most of them useable. Also recycling was difficult with just the one rubbish bin inside the barn.
It's a lovely place, would do with removing the two steps to the back door and putting a slop as that would benefit people in a wheelchair, so be good place for people with a disability. Kids loved the tennis court. Only down side was there were no bags left under kitchen sink for used linen, which sign says to put dirty linen in. We went to use some of the baking trays and they had food still left on it from whoever used it last. The outside toilet was alive with cobwebs and ladybirds everywhere infestation. Luckily we also brought some toilet roll as there wasn't much there. These are small issues, but really lovely place and lovely view of the big lake
Wonderful family weekend celebrating husbands special birthday. Wonderful location, lots of space. Good communications between everyone. Thoroughly recommend Quill Barn!

Just returned from a great weekend. Owners were so helpful in answering any questions we had and a great, well equipped entertaining space for a large group.

We booked Quill Farm Barn for a family birthday gettogether. From the start it exceeded expectations, there was plenty of room, everything you'd expect in the kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and clean everywhere. The perfect choice if you want a secluded spot but not too far from Campsea Ashe with its nice friendly tearoom and recommended pubrestaurant, The Duck.
We enjoyed our stay at Quill Barn and enjoyed getting to know a little about what Suffolk has to offer. The barn suited our purposes. We enjoyed the tennis court and the walks around the barn despite the mud... In the future we will look for a property at least two reception rooms as the main living can become quite noisy. Additionally, acknowledging that the 'fix' is difficult. The sound proofing in the barn is poor. Being above the kitchen we could hear the kettle being turned on and the insulation between the rooms would appear to be nonexistent. Apart from that the barn is a great place to have fun and enjoy the surrounding countryside.
Our family of 13 and 2 dogs had a wonderful stay at Quill Farm. The Barn was spacious, full of everything you could need to enjoy your stay comfortably and a fabulous communal kitchenliving area. Perfectly situated to enjoy many of the areas attractions and The Duck pub is in walking distance and provides delicious meals. The gardens are immaculate and have beautiful views of the lake. The kids loved the tennis courts too. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to large groups.
This was an amazing location. Home from home, very comfortable, fully equipped and clean as a whistle. Cant wait to return
Beautiful properly in a lovely setting. We had an 8 person gathering and everyone was comfortably accommodated. The living room area was great for group meals and socialising and the quality of the facilities was first class. Highly recommended.
Judith
A lovely house for a family gathering. All the family had a great time and enjoyed exploring Suffolk. Thank you
The property is set in very spacious well maintained grounds. It has been well designed and all the rooms decorated and furnished to a high standard. Our party comprised of 9 adults and 4 children 4 to 7 years old with plenty of space for everyone. The grounds and tennis court especially were a big hit with the children. The owner was very welcoming, helpful and responded promptly in all communication. Would definitely recommend the property for a relaxing family holiday, and to explore the nearby seaside towns.
Absolutely fabulous barn in a good location and lovely garden. It is ideal for a special celebration. It met our expectations and more, we hope to return.
Christine
Great property for family gatherings. Ease of access and beautiful garden space.
Judith
We had the best time in this wonderful barn. It was the perfect place to spend Christmas with all the family. We had young children and they loved spending time outside on their 'Santa' scooters and had their first experience of playing tennis. The owner was very helpful and we were able to get in early and he always replied to any questions we had. So many lovely places to visit we were spoilt for choice. All in all a great place to stay. I would suggest taking stair gates if you have young children maybe an extra wide one. We used furniture to block off access to the stairs for the toddlers. Thank you for helping us make special Christmas memories.
An amazing property, very well equipped every thought gone i to making the property homely and comfortable. Cant wait to book again

Quill Farm Barn is delightful! We were there to celebrate an 80th birthday and the accommodation was perfect for our three families the youngest being 9. I loved the fact that each family had their separate wings for sleeping and the open plan living was amazing. It is beautifully appointed throughout. You cant help but like it.
I have just had a wonderful week at Quill Farm with 3 generations of my family. We all fitted in lovely. The different spaces were well thought out. The balcony space became our card playing area and nap space. Communication with the owner was excellent. There were a couple of maintenance issues which the owner was pleased to be alerted to so that they could be rectified. Lots of great forest walks nearby, especially Rendlesham Forest. Lovely place for coffee 5 minutes away at the station. Altogether a lovely week had by all.
Our stay was for a family of 6 adults and 3 dogs. Quill Barn is attractive and spacious in a beautiful setting. Fantastic grounds, very peaceful and private and also secure for dogs. The bedrooms are well furnished although some feather pillows may be an improvement. Plenty of storagehanging space and a fan supplied. Each couple in our party had their own wing and bathroom facilities which was brilliant. The bathroomstoilets were high standard, immaculately clean with lovely thick fluffy towels. General facilities in the barn and outdoor space were very good. The chefs amongst the group did think that the kitchen could benefit from a measuring jug, a microwaveable mixing bowl and a set of wooden spoons. Having seen that the downstairs is open plan we brought a barrier for the stairs with us to confine pets to this area. There are some good walks from the barn, one of our favourites was to Wickham Market through the fields and of course to the Duck pub in the local village. Overall we had a great, relaxing stay and would recommend Quill Barn.
We stayed here at the end of summer for 4 nights. The barn is beautiful, the grounds are amazing and around the back the fenced off lake adds an extra touch, the sound of trickling water in the evenings and the light shining on the lake is very tranquil. The children enjoyed the ducks that were very shy but friendly, they'd come to say hello! Children loved the tennis court and we all enjoyed looking for bats up the lane by the house, at dusk. Well spaced out downstairs, great kitchen and bonus was there were lots of toilets! Lovely location very quiet and peaceful. We sat out one morning and spotted a hawk! Lots to do in the area we just didn't have time to do it all but Sutton Hoo is a must it's fascinating! We ate at the local pub The Duck on the Sunday, it's a 15 minute walk from the property, food very good quality the roast beef the best ive ever had and staff all very welcoming. We also visited a local farm shop and bought lots of goodies for a bbq we had that evening. We love the area and will return to do more exploring of castles and beaches, shops and cafes. The only downside to the barn is the bedroom leading off from the kitchen can get stifling hot and one family had to move rooms as the heat was unbearable. There is a fan but it didn't help much, and the windows don't open. The room is stunning with original beams and views of the front garden from the bed. I have fed this back to the owner who is now aware and has acknowledged. Oh and the maintenance guy Steve is great he was always on hand when needed! Beautiful holiday, beautiful memories
Rebecca
We loved our stay at Quill Farm Barn. The barn was beautiful with gorgeous grounds and the tennis court was an added bonus! The bedrooms and bathrooms were lovely and the towels especially thick and soft. We had a couple of small issues which were resolved very quickly by the owner. We would love to come again and would definitely recommend the barn to our wider family and friends.
Katherine
Overall a good stay at this property, with plenty of space for our group. We loved having the tennis court although it good do with a bit of TLC, lots of minipot holes which deflect the ball!. The rooms were sufficient for our needs, but generally they could use a little spruce up as the paintwork felt a bit tired. Given the warm weather, we realised very quickly that the house heated up a lot and in the absence of any air conditioning or fans in all of the rooms, this made the rooms very hot for sleeping! The garden was very nice and the barbecue was perfect.
Beautiful setting for a relaxed holiday set in the countryside of Suffolk with ... Beautiful setting for a relaxed holiday set in the countryside of Suffolk with outdoor areas for BBQ, outdoor eating, playing games plus a tennis court The accommodation is to a very high standard with facilities for all ages but not suitable for wheelchair users Definitely recommend this holiday accommodation for a all year round break
Fantastic stay at Quill Farm Barn. Well equipped, comfortable and clean. Owner was very helpful with local recommendations.
Tracey
We had an amazing time at Quill Farm, and would definitely go back. The weather helped as we all played tennis and had a barbecue, and in such beautiful surroundings.
A beautiful barn conversion in a wonderful setting and close to all the fabulous places to see and visit in Suffolk. Comfy beds even if the pillows were a bit lumpy!. Everything you need for a great holiday. Excellent value. Bear in mind there is no washing machine though. Slight problems we had were quickly resolved. I would thoroughly recommend this house.
Melissa
