The Bridewell Reviews

Graham
This was taken as a last minute availability because our original booking had to cancel. The general consensus was we got a better holiday. All the group thought highly of the Bridewell and its quirkiness. Woodbridge offers so much and all in walking distance. Bridewell has heritage, age and as such steep steps to the front door on a very busy road and narrowish pavement. Possibly better access would be through side gate to rear door? Also some form of extra step to kitchen would be useful. Minor details, all in all a great holiday.

The house is beautiful and so comfortable. You are provided with everything you could need even a ravioli cutter!. The only thing that would make a stay any better would be a few notes about how to operate the heating and to manage expectations about how long it takes for heat to reach the bottom room, plus a quick note about what can go in the recycling.
We had a lovely Christmas in the Bridewell. The house was just right with its log burner, old beams etc and great facilities. The kitchen is very well equipped, good cooker with 2 ovens open plan with the living room made a good space for cooking and entertaining. We arrived to a Christmas tree and very generous welcome pack . There was plenty of wood for the log burner. We knew there was no parking with the house . There is free on street parking with no time limit approx 10 mins walk away near Woodbridge school more information about available parking in the details would be helpful. There was no guest information folder which is unusual. It would be helpful to have one with instructions for the heating, where the logs are kept , which bins to use and arrangements for recycling etc .

Bridewell House is a beautifully decorated and furnished place, with everything one could possibly want for a stay as a family. The welcome pack was really thoughtful, it meant we didnt need to run to the shops until at least the afternoon following our arrival making for a restful first morning. The location is fantastic. Sykes WhatsApp number was quick to respond and troubleshoot a couple of issues. We would love to say here again
Gordon
We enjoyed the stay in Brideswell. However, we were disappointed with the parking situation. There was no parking space at the property and onstreet parking was limited to 30mins. This was not mentioned in the advertising feature, There was nothing helpful as to the best place to park in the property. I found a carpark some distance away and paid for a full day, and overnight was free from 6pm till 8am. Unfortunately I was a little late getting to the car park after 8am and had incurred a 25 fine. The welcome note gave interesting background information on the property and said that if there were any problems, to contact the housekeeper. Unfortunately no contact details were provided!
